Vivolution have been integral to the success of building our business. Their commercial expertise helped us secure the right investment quickly, allowing us to grow from two founders to a team of over 40. We would recommend their support to anyone with an innovative idea.
— Nikki Th'ng, CEO and Co-Founder, Class for Kids
Approach
Class for Kids was founded by Nikki Th’ng and Kevin MacDonell to make life easier for children’s activity providers, many of whom were juggling bookings, payments and admin using manual, time‑consuming processes.
The founders built the first version of the platform themselves, using their technical expertise to solve a problem they knew well. As the business gained traction, the challenge became less about building the product, and more about how to grow it properly.
Vivolution partnered with the team as they moved into this next phase. Our role was to support clear, well‑timed decisions around growth, funding and focus, helping the founders balance speed with sustainability. We worked closely with them to sharpen the commercial strategy, strengthen revenue execution and evolve the business beyond a purely founder‑led setup.
When Covid‑19 disrupted the sector, Class for Kids responded quickly. The platform helped clubs stay connected with parents, introduce remote options and navigate an incredibly challenging period. That ability to adapt reinforced the importance of aligning product delivery, customer support and commercial priorities, especially under pressure.
Impact
Class for Kids went on to become the leading platform in the UK children’s activities market, transforming how clubs and parents interact. For clubs, it introduced a single, reliable way to manage bookings, payments and communication.
For parents and carers, it made organising children’s activities simpler, clearer and far less stressful.
By embracing mobile technology and secure online payments, Class for Kids replaced fragmented, manual processes with a trusted digital experience. What had once been a stagnant, admin‑heavy industry became more professional, efficient and accessible for everyone involved.
Journey So Far
As the business scaled, Vivolution supported Class for Kids through a critical period of growth and investment readiness. Together, we worked through:
Class for Kids successfully raised close to £4 million in investment, enabling rapid expansion from two founders to a team of 40+ people, spanning sales, customer service and marketing. The business grew into a 7,900 sq ft office in central Glasgow, reflecting how far it had come.
In 2022, Class for Kids was acquired by The Access Group for £25m+, marking a successful exit for the founders and validating the strategic and commercial foundations built during the growth phase.
What's Next
As part of The Access Group, Class for Kids is well placed to continue building on its market‑leading position. With the support of a larger software group, the platform can accelerate product development, reach new markets and continue delivering value to clubs and families.
