Innovative cancer biomarker technologies
We have been engaged with Vivolution from the start of our CM-DAT journey. They helped us to "commercialise ” what was a consultancy service we provided for the Adult Social Care sector. Through their technology arm and with investment from an Innovate UK grant, we have built our Core MVP. It has been great working with the Vivolution team and we could not have progressed so quickly without their help on our journey.
Brian Pimlott Founder & DirectorCM-DAT helps caregiving bodies and social services do more, spreading their activities more widely and fruitfully. Our social care network in the UK is stretched, with limited resources trying to support an ever-increasing workload. By helping local authorities use their resources more efficiently, CM-DAT can help them cast their net that bit wider, aiding society as a whole to look after the vulnerable and challenged.
CM-DAT have been supported by Innovate UK through their sustainable innovation grant funding, allowing them to build a core MVP in conjunction with a local authority in London. The MVP aggregates data collected from various platforms used in the social care sector, allowing data driven decisions to be made by senior members within councils. The platform enables senior management decision-makers to monitor, forecast, model and test strategic plans.
CM-DAT uses clients own data for real-time reporting, monitoring, scenario planning and impact assessment. With nearly a decade of real-world social care experience built into the technology, enabling social care leaders to make effective and sustainable decisions in a dynamic and complex market.

Social care units gather lots of information – masses of it – but for a variety of reasons the data aren't used efficiently in assessing the past nor in planning for the future. In a sector with significant recurring challenges, that’s a substantial risk.
In contrast, CM-DAT’s analytical tool gathers and analyses the information at hand, allowing those who commission these services to better diagnose, plan and manage their proposed responses to local demand, and for providers to make the best use of resources in delivery.
Drawing on the existing data, the CM-DAT tool allows scenarios to be run that can give valuable insights to inform decisions and their impact in terms of cost, performance and outcomes
The consultants behind CM-DAT have delivered significant savings to a broad range of local authority commissioners that have been used to help shore up budgets and extend services to a wider group of clients. The intention for the CM-DAT tool is to do exactly the same but to the widest group of local authority clients. The initial rollout of the CM-DAT product has been described by one London borough as "exactly what we've been crying out for."
Every company is unique, but CM-DAT is particularly so in terms of its proposition and client base. That required timely specialist advice in terms of its route to market and commercial viability. Vivolution's expertise helped the business turn intelligence gathered through an individually tailored consultancy service into an aggregated platform through VivoTech , helping build a highly profitable venture that can also lower costs for the target market.
Achieving the correct financing is a major undertaking for any company. Vivolution through VivoVentures are helping CM-DAT structure its investment proposition perfectly so as to ensure it has the right funding at the right time, allowing it to grow its business without prejudicing later attempts to raise money. In particular, Vivolution have helped the company achieve a government grant that allowed the business move forward without complicating its shareholder register prematurely.
CM-DAT are in the process of gaining wider market commercial engagements with authorities in both England and Scotland. Through building the Core MVP, they have identified a B2C proposition with their Marketplace Module. This is a very exciting time for CM-DAT, in a sector desperately seeking solutions to continue to manage the demand of an ageing society.
