A comprehensive service
Class for Kids provides clubs with a comprehensive service to manage all of their business needs. With the founders Nikki Th’ng and Kevin MacDonell having originally built the platform using their technical expertise, the workforce now stands at 40, including sales, customer-service and marketing staff.
The COVID-19 pandemic was a catalyst in growth, helping clubs overcome the challenges of lockdown by helping with remote options and providing support to affected businesses. In addition, the platform’s extensive network provided an ideal means of collaborative support for members.
In what was a stagnant industry, parents and carers now find it much easier to manage their kids’ activities. Class for Kids has become the predominant platform used in the children’s activities industry within the UK, and has revolutionised the way in which clubs are operated through the introduction of a centralised booking and payments system.
The platform has taken advantage of the smartphone revolution, which has made it significantly easier for parents and clubs to connect. In addition, the online payments system has created a trustworthy, safe and reliable way of accounting for both businesses and parents.
VivoVentures provided invaluable experience in the search for investment, using its vast knowledge in the technology industry and valuable insights into the commercial aspects of growing and scaling the business. The result: close to £4 million of financing that’s helped the business expand to take up the entire 7,900 sq ft third floor in a central Glasgow office space.
The future is bright!
Class for Kids is currently testing in new markets, such as New Zealand, Australia, the US and Canada, while continuing to use its foothold in the UK to hone and shape its products and services.
